Small boat intercepted off Lanzarote with 61 people abord

A patera containing 61 migrants has been intercepted in waters off Lanzarote.

The Maritime Rescue service rescued the vessel after it was located approximately 45 nautical miles northeast of Lanzarote, according to La Voz.

Among the 61 migrants on board were 13 unaccompanied minors. All of the occupants are from Morocco.

The latest rescue brings the total number of boats to reach Lanzarote to ten. The previous rescue took place on Friday, when a boat carrying 41 people was brought ashore.
