San Bartolomé CF will remain in the Spanish Tercera Division next season after beating UD Gran Tarajal 2-0 last night.
The club’s mid-table finish guarantees their survival in Spain’s fifth tier, where they will be joined next year by at least one other Lanzarote team.
Which one depends on the results of the final matches of the season: although US Yaiza and UD Lanzarote both have an outside chance of winning the automatic promotion spot, it seems more likely that they will head into the play-offs.
Yaiza face league leaders Tenerife B on Sunday, and the following Sunday (12th) will see UD Lanzarote host the southern team in what is likely to be an exciting local derby to finish the season.
