Firemen were called out to rescue two hikers who had become trapped on a mountain near Guatiza yesterday.
The rescue took place at around 6pm on Montaña Guenia, a volcano that lies 1.5 kilometres west of Guatiza. Two walkers had become trapped in a zone where it was unsafe to leave because of loose rocks and the risk of landslides. Firemen used ropes to get the pair into a safe zone.
Both walkers were uninjured and left the scene on foot.
