Last week’s heatwave saw temperatures hit 40.5 degrees at the Lanzarote Airport weather station. Residents and tourists are thankful to say goodbye to the scorching temperatures.
While Lanzarote is known for its year-round sunshine and stunning weather, the temperatures seen last week were uncomfortable for most. The air was warm and the heat inescapable.
For those without air conditioning the end of the heatwave is welcomed with open arms.
Some of the highest temperatures recorded at stations around the island were 40.5 degrees Celsius at the airport, 39.5 in Tias, 36 in Yaiza and 35.9 in Haria.
