A passing Atlantic front delivered widespread rainfall to Lanzarote on Tuesday, with the northern reaches of the island recording the highest accumulations of up to ten litres per square metre.

The islands were placed under a yellow weather warning for rainfall throughout the day, which was lifted by the authorities at 6:00 p.m.

La Voz reports that Haría recorded with 10.2 litres per square metre of rain. Significant rainfall was also registered in Tinajo, with nearly 9 litres, and San Bartolomé, which saw close to 6 litres per square metre.

In the south, the towns of Mácher and La Asomada in Tías both recorded over 4 litres, a figure matched in Playa Blanca. The southeast of Lanzarote experienced the lightest rainfall, where levels barely reached 3 litres per square metre.

The neighbouring island of La Graciosa also received a soaking, with rainfall records slightly exceeding 4 litres per square metre.
