The Workers Commissions trade union (CCOO) have denounced an incident that occurred yesterday when a passenger stood in front of a bus in Playa Blanca, preventing it from leaving.

CCOO delegate, Ricardo Hernández, stated that the incident took place at 5pm yesterday afternoon, “when one of the passengers who was about to get onto the bus, chose to stand in front of the vehicle to stop it from leaving in protest for not letting him on.”

The Guardia Civil were called to the scene by the driver who reported that the passenger was aggressive and unwilling to move.

Busy bus lines and infrequent buses have caused incidents recently, with other reports of aggressions between passengers and drivers this year.

The addition of the new 62 line between Playa Blanca and Arrecife aims to improve the situation, running every half an hour until 1:30pm.
