50-year-old rescued after falling at Caldera Blanca

Firemen rescued a 50-year-old woman who had fallen on the Caldera Blanca route yesterday.

The call was received at 3.19 pm and emergency services were activated. On arrival, firemen immobilised the woman and transported her to an ambulance on a stretcher.

The woman suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the General Hospital in Arrecife.

The Caldera Blanca walking route is one of the most spectacular on the island, but terrain is consistently rough, with lava and loose stones. We’d recommend strong footwear if you’re going to attempt it, and walking sticks or poles are very useful.
