Yellow rain alert issued for Lanzarote from Friday afternoon

The rain may not have arrived yesterday but don’t put your washing out just yet, because a yellow rain alert has been issued for Lanzarote for Friday by AEMET, Spain’s weather agency.

The alert runs from 3 pm on Friday 9^th October until 6 am on Saturday morning. Heavy showers that may be accompanied by localised storms are predicted, as well as a possible 15 mms of rainfall.

Lanzarote’s Emergency Consortium has reminded motorists not to park in areas that could be flooded, or near barrancos (ravines and storm channels).
