The event will see Viva Blue Diving receive the 2026 Yaiza Tourism Award for its work in diving and marine conservation.

Yaiza Ayuntamiento will hold its tourism gala in Playa Blanca this Thursday, October 8, with local diving centre Viva Blue Diving set to receive the 2026 Yaiza Tourism Award.

For the past eight years, Viva Blue Diving has also organised and carried out regular beach and seabed clean-ups in Yaiza, supported by volunteers.

The gala will take place in the Plaza del Carmen from 8:30pm. Yaiza’s Tourism Councillor, Daniel Medina, has invited both residents and visitors to attend.

The evening will feature a performance by Gran Canarian singer-songwriter Aduén Amaya, whose music combines Latin rhythms, Cuban son, salsa and tropical music with a romantic and contemporary style.

“Viva Blue Diving embodies what quality tourism service is all about, so it is a true pleasure for the City Council to present this municipal award, especially at a time when the dive centre is launching its new international identity,” said Daniel Medina.
