A Costa Teguise man’s life was saved when family members carried out emergency CPR manoeuvres while being instructed by Canarian Emergency Staff.
The man suffered a convulsion at 7 am, followed by breathing problems which resulted in the loss of vital signs. The family contacted the emergency services who instructed the son to place the man on a rigid surface and described how to apply CPR.
Other family members took turns until the arrival of an ambulance, and paramedics continued the resuscitation procedure, applying two charges from a defibrillator.
This succeeded in activating the heart, and the patient was rushed to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital.
