Jet2 has selected Lanzarote as one of the main locations for its “Partnership for Growth” events, bringing together tourism businesses and public sector representatives to coordinate plans for future British visitor demand.

The British tour operator held the meeting as part of a series of sessions across the Canary Islands, with events also taking place in Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura.

The Lanzarote event brought together hoteliers, villa providers and institutional representatives as Jet2 sought to coordinate its operations with the island’s tourism sector.

Jet2 carried over 2.5 million customers to the Canary Islands in 2026, with 58 routes and up to 278 peak weekly flights operating to the islands.

Jet2 is the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to the Canary Islands, directly employing 715 colleagues across the islands, and this series of events underlines the company’s continued commitment. In 2025, Jet2 customers represented over a third of all UK tourism to the Canaries, while the company makes an annual contribution of over €2.1 billion to the Canary Islands economy, underlining the scale of its role in supporting the destination.

Speaking during the meetings, Chief Commercial Officer at Jet2, Adam Mulroy, said: “These events underline our long-term commitment to the Canary Islands and our determination to build on our position as the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to the islands. This is only possible by working in partnership and we are very proud of the relationships that we have built, which have been strengthened even further this week. Our collaborative approach to working together means that our door is always open to partners and we look forward to building on the many positive discussions that we have had this week, as we continue investing in and supporting the successful future of tourism across the islands.”
