Lanzarote sends nearly 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid to earthquake victims in Venezuela

Almost 30 metric tonnes of food, medical supplies, clothing and other essential items collected in Lanzarote will be transported to communities affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.

The Cabildo is arranging the shipment of nearly 30 metric tonnes of humanitarian aid collected on the island for people affected by the earthquakes that struck Venezuela last June.

The aid includes non-perishable food, medical supplies, hygiene products, clothing, sleeping mats, medications and other essential items, with supplies intended especially for children.

The collection campaign was organised in collaboration with the Venezolanos Unidos Sociocultural and Sports Association and the Canary Islands-Venezuela Union Association. Both organisations helped collect and organise the donations for the affected population.

Given the volume of material gathered, the Cabildo has taken responsibility for contracting comprehensive logistics and international maritime transport services to ensure the aid reaches Venezuela.
