Public holiday marks feast day of Virgin of Los Dolores on Lanzarote

Today is a public holiday on Lanzarote, the feast day of the island’s unofficial patron, the Virgin of Los Dolores.

It will be the last day of the Los Dolores celebrations in Mancha Blanca, where the solemn mass has been rescheduled from 11 am to 6pm because of the intense heat.

The Craft Fair has also been affected by the heat and will now open from 6pm until 10pm.

As usual on public holidays, supermarkets and shopping centres will remain open and many businesses in the resorts will open as normal, but public buildings and many smaller shops and businesses will be closed.
