Yellow wind and heat alerts issued for Lanzarote

A yellow wind alert has been issued for Lanzarote today (Sunday 6^th September), and a yellow heat alert is in place tomorrow (Monday).

The wind alert will last from 4 pm to 10 pm on Sunday, with possible gusts of up to 70 kph.  South eastern areas such as Costa Teguise and Arrecife are expected to be worst-affected.

A yellow heat alert is in place from midday to 8pm on Monday 7^th September, with maximum temperatures of up to 34 degrees Celsius. The southern half of the island will be worst-affected.

The heatwave is predicted to continue until Tuesday, with further warnings likely. Normal conditions are forecast to return from Wednesday onward.
