Tourist Numbers Remain Stable Despite Wetter Winter

Tourist numbers in the first six months of 2026 are virtually identical to those in 2025, with only a tiny drop of 0.3% in the overall number of arrivals, despite Lanzarote experiencing its coolest, wettest winter for years.

1,717,370 tourists arrived on Lanzarote from January to the end of June, a decrease of just 4500 on the same period in 2025.

The busiest month was March, with 325,463 arrivals, almost identical to the figures in March 2025. Significant drops of 3.7% in February and 7.9% in May were compensated for by a 12.5% increase in January.

As usual, UK tourism forms the most important market, with 884,720 arrivals – 51.5% of all toursim to Lanzarote. The next most important markets are Ireland (193,157), Germany (169, 759) and France (112,3099.)
