€52.5 Million Approved for Wastewater Upgrades in Arrecife and Tías

The Spanish state has increased the planned investment in wastewater treatment and sanitation in Arrecife and Tías from €37.5 million to €52.5 million (excluding IGIC).

The state-owned company Aguas de las Cuencas de España (Acuaes), which works under Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition, authorized the financing yesterday. This will permit Acuaes to complete projects it is carrying out in the Arrecife and Tías water systems.

Arrecife’s sewage treatment plant will be expanded, with completion scheduled for January 2027. Tias’s sewage treatment plant will also be expanded and improved, along with the pumping stations in Puerto Calero. These works will commence in August.
