Madrid-based artist Malú will headline the free concert at the climax of this year’s Fiestas de los Dolores in Mancha Blanca in September.
Malú is the singer of hits such as Blanco y Negro and A Prueba de Tí and has performed successful duets with stars like David Bisbal and Alejandro Sanz.
Tinajo Mayor Jesús Machín, meanwhile, explained that the Canarian rapper Quevedo would not be performing, as had been hoped. Quevedo is currently the biggest Canarian star, with several No 1 national hits, and topped the Spotify Global list for one month in 2022 with more streams than any other artist in the world.
Machín told Radio Lanzarote that Quevedo, apparently, does not perform free festivals. The Mayor quoted a local folk group who sang that “the higher the eagle flies the further it falls” and said it was a shame that “an artist who only appeared three days ago, so to speak, won’t perform for Canarians who can’t afford to see him”.
Machín also said that he would have liked to have brought Shakira to Tinajo, a proposal that we here at Gazette Life support 100%.
