A new personalised core training programme from Bodykinetik combines targeted abdominal strengthening with stretching and massage to support posture, movement and everyday wellbeing.

Core strength is often associated with gym workouts and defined abdominal muscles, but its role extends far beyond appearance. A strong core provides the foundation for everyday movement, helping people lift shopping bags, maintain good posture, recover from awkward movements and support the body during daily activities.

Recognising the importance of this often-overlooked muscle group, Bodykinetik has introduced a new personalised Core Routine programme designed to strengthen the muscles that stabilise the body while complementing regular massage and stretching sessions.

The programme focuses on reinforcing the abdominal belt, including deep muscles such as the transverse abdominis. By strengthening these muscles alongside the lower back, upper back, paraspinal muscles and glutes, participants work towards improved stability and balanced muscular support throughout the body.

Rather than relying on repetitive high-impact exercises, the sessions use isometric, or static, techniques for the abdominal and upper back muscles. This approach allows the body to build strength with a significantly lower risk of injury, making it suitable for people looking to improve their physical condition in a controlled and progressive way.

As with Bodykinetik’s stretching sessions, every Core Routine is tailored to the individual. Sessions are adapted to each person’s needs, meaning no two appointments are exactly the same. The aim is to create a programme that fits the client rather than expecting every client to follow the same routine.

The new service reflects the philosophy behind Bodykinetik, founded by licensed massage therapist Francis Barbier-Martins. With a background that includes diving instruction, cycling and other sports, his own experiences with recurring back pain led him to explore different approaches to recovery before training as a massage therapist in Paris. Today, his work focuses on helping clients maintain their bodies through a combination of massage, movement and personalised care.

The Core Routine has been designed as a natural complement to massage therapy and stretching, offering another way to support long-term mobility, strength and everyday comfort.

Sessions can be booked through the Bodykinetik website or by contacting the practice via WhatsApp.
