An orange heat alert remains in place for today and tomorrow on Lanzarote, although it initially appears that the heatwave is not going to be as intense as expected.
Yesterday, a maximum temperature of just under 32 degrees Celsius was recorded at Lanzarote’s airport. Maximum temperatures of 33- 34 degrees are possible today, especially in interior or southern zones of the island.
The heat is expected to diminish from Thursday, with a return to normal temperatures in the mid-20s.
