Spain’s weather agency, AEMET, forecasts an intense heatwave for Lanzarote in the coming week.
Temperatures are predicted to climb gradually over the weekend, with a spike on Tuesday that could bring maximum temperatures of 38 degrees.
The heatwave will remain until Thursday before a return to more normal temperatures. UV levels will also be extremely high during next week.
No heat alerts have been issued yet, but citizens are advised to keep an eye on the situation.
