Lanzarote’s Cabildo will ask AENA, Spain’s airport authority, to reduce parking charges at César Manrique Airport by 75% for residents.
The Cabildo is likely to pass a motion approving the proposal today. On Fuerteventura, a similar motion has been passed by that island’s Cabildo, while the Canarian Government approved a similar request earlier this year. So far, AENA has failed to respond.
The measure would reduce parking charges for a full day from around €20 to €5, which supporters of the discount claim would make life easier for islanders picking up and dropping off friends and family, or parking while they visit other islands.
