Two boats carrying a total of 145 migrants were intercepted and escorted to Arrecife’s Puerto Naos yesterday.

The first boat to be rescued contained 77 people, among them six women and three children, and was located 65 miles east of the island. A second boat containing 63 men, four women and a child was intercepted 12 miles from the coast at around 8 pm.

All occupants of the two boats are reported to be in good health.
