Lanzarote Vehicle Numbers Up 4500

There were 149,445 registered motor vehicles on Lanzarote at the end of 2025, more than one for every adult resident of the island.

The figure represents an increase of 4,500 on 2024’s total, according to statistics from the Cabildo’s Statistics Department.

Arrecife, with 52,844 vehicles, is the municipality with the highest total of vehicles, while Haría has the fewest, at 5,352. However, the area with the highest ratio of vehicles per resident is San Bartolomé, due to the presence of hire car companies based in Playa Honda at the airport.
