The Lanzarote Cabildo has announced a series of road closures and traffic restrictions for the 34th edition of the Club La Santa Ironman Lanzarote, taking place on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Haría

In Haría municipality, the LZ-10 road will be closed from 9:00am until 5:30pm. Several streets in the town centre — including El Palmeral, La Cilla, La Cruz, María Herrera, Portillo de Bonilla, Santa Bárbara and San Francisco — will have traffic restrictions between 10:00am and 3:30pm.

Additional closures include:

  • LZ-201 between Máguez and Yé
  • LZ-202 toward Arrieta (Hoya de la Pila–Mirador del Río)
  • LZ-203 between Mirador del Río and Yé

These roads will be closed from 10:30am to 4:00pm.

The LZ-1 between Arrieta and Guatiza will also be closed from 10:00am until 5:00pm.

Access to Haría will be maintained via San Juan Street from Arrieta using the LZ-208 (Trujillo). Vehicles will be diverted through La Cruz Street and Romero Street from Máguez. Access to Guinate will remain possible from Máguez via Camino del Cuervo.

Yé will be isolated from 10:30am to 4:00pm, although organisers will provide transport for anyone needing to travel during that time. Traffic through Órzola, Punta Mujeres and Arrieta will continue via the LZ-1 Arrecife–Órzola road.

Teguise

The LZ-30 in Teguise will close from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Streets affected in the town include Bentejuí, Guayadeque and Leandro Perdomo Spínola between 9:00am and 1:00pm, while José Betancort Street will remain closed until 5:30pm.

Other closures include:

  • LZ-10 (La Villa–Haría)
  • LZ-404 (Guatiza–La Villa)
  • LZ-1a between Tahiche and Guatiza

These restrictions will apply from 9:00am to 5:30pm. The LZ-1 between Arrieta and Guatiza will also be closed from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Residents will still be able to access Teguise via the LZ-10 from Tahiche. Alternative routes have also been arranged for Mozaga, El Mojón, Los Valles and Teseguite.

Access to Famara will only be possible via the LZ-410 (Soo–Caleta de Famara), as the LZ-402 will remain closed.

Yaiza

In Yaiza, the LZ-30 will close from 7:30am to 11:30am, while the La Geria road will be inaccessible from 7:45am until midday.

Further restrictions include:

  • LZ-2 near Uga from 7:45am to 12:00pm
  • LZ-2 toward Playa Blanca from 7:45am to 1:00pm
  • LZ-67 between the south and Mancha Blanca from 8:00am to 1:30pm

Alternative access routes will be available through Yaiza and La Degollada using the LZ-701 from Janubio. Playa Blanca, Las Breñas, Maciot and Femés can still be reached via the LZ-702 and LZ-2 roads.

In Uga, access will be restricted to residents only through the Los Camellos roundabout using Tinasoria Street.

Tinajo

Road closures in Tinajo will affect the LZ-67 and Avenida Mancha Blanca from 8:00am to 1:30pm. Calle Tinguatón will also be closed from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

The LZ-56 between Mancha Blanca and La Geria will remain closed from 7:30am to 6:30pm.

Traffic diversions will operate through Calle El Tablero in Mancha Blanca and Camino Esquina La Vega in Tinguatón.

Timanfaya National Park will close from 8:00am to 1:30pm.

San Bartolomé

The LZ-30 between Masdache and La Villa will close from 8:30am until 6:30pm.

In Playa Honda:

  • Camino de Guacimeta will close from 12:45pm to 9:15pm
  • The main avenue will close from 1:00pm to 9:00pm

Access to La Florida and El Islote will remain available via the LZ-409 (El Peñón).

Tías and Arrecife

In Puerto del Carmen, Avenida Las Playas will be closed from 11:00am until 1:00am.

Meanwhile, in Arrecife, Avenida Secundino Delgado will be closed between 1:30pm and 8:30pm.
