The Lanzarote Cabildo is cutting the number 30 bus frequency in Playa Blanca to 15 minutes while reinforcing routes with the addition of six new hybrid vehicles.
Specifically, two of these vehicles will deliver an improvement on Line 30, which operates within Playa Blanca. The service frequency on this route is being increased, from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes on average.
The president of the Lanzarote Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, stated that these additions “continue to make public transportation more efficient and accessible”. He clarified that during this term, more than 30 new buses have already been acquired, “a historic figure that reflects this our commitment to mobility”.
Two further buses added to the service will help increase the number of available seats on lines 1, 2 and 3, which connect Costa Teguise, Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen.
Betancort also highlighted the inclusive nature of the new vehicles: “Lanzarote has become the first island in the Canary Islands to introduce cognitive accessibility in vehicles for people with intellectual disabilities or learning difficulties. We want public transportation designed for everyone, where no one is left behind,” he said.
The remaining two buses will be allocated to the operational needs.
