Hotel rates in Lanzarote rose to an average of 160.5 euros per night in March, a rise of 11.3% compared to the same month last year, according to new data from the Lanzarote Data Centre.
The upward trend was already evident earlier in the year. In January, the average nightly rate reached 144.1 euros, which is 4.5% higher than in January 2025. February followed a similar pattern, with rates rising 5.5% to 155.7 euros.
However, the data reveals a divide within the sector. The overall increase in the average hotel rate is being driven by price hikes at three-star hotels and below. In contrast, luxury establishments are lowering their prices.
Five-star hotels have been reducing their rates month after month, with the sole exception of December, when they were forced to freeze them. In March, the average rate for a five-star hotel stood at 353 euros, which is 2% lower than in March 2025.
Four-star hotels managed to raise prices only in December. In March, their average rate was 222 euros, a drop of 4% compared to the same month last year.
