Cleanup underway on Arrecife’s Paseo Marítimo following Storm

Cleanup and repair operations are now in progress along Arrecife’s paseo marítimo and across other parts of the Lanzarote capital following the recent storm, the Arrecife Ayuntamiento has confirmed.

Work began early this morning, with municipal crews deployed to tackle the damage. According to Councillor Jacobo Lemes, efforts are focussed on removing debris, including seaweed and dirt, while also assessing and replacing sections of damaged pavement where raised slabs have been identified.

Lemes added that he had visited the area personally to assess the state of the affected zones and to oversee the ongoing work. He also extended his thanks to the staff involved, acknowledging their “enormous effort”.

The Ayuntamiento is urging residents to exercise extreme caution, to avoid unnecessary travel, and to respect the affected areas while cleanup and repair work continues.
