Passengers aboard a Binter flight experienced strong winds on Saturday, 28th February, when the aircraft aborted its landing at Lanzarote Airport.
The ATR 72-600 plane from Gran Canaria attempted to land when it was buffeted by a side-wind, forcing pilots to perform a “TOGA” (take off and go round) manoeuvre. The aircraft then landed successfully at a second attempt.
The incident was captured on video by Lanzarote Webcam, who shared the footage on social media and commented “ the pilots skills were essential to sort the problem without damages and left us a nice toga operation. Congratulations and a big round of applause for the entire crew”. Lanzarote Webcam provides live, real-time footage of arrivals and departures at César Manrique Airport.
