Lanzarote is Ireland’s favourite yet again

Every January, Lanzarote can rely on three certainties – New Year’s Day, Three Kings Day and winning the Irish Travel Agents Association Award for Best Winter destination.

The island once again won the award for the twentieth year running last week at a ceremony in Dublin, pipping Dubai, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and South Africa, who must all be wondering why they even bother to enter.

Lanzarote Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort commented “It is an immense honour that, once again, Lanzarote has been chosen by the Irish industry as the Best Winter Destination, which reflects the continued trust of such a discerning market as the Irish one, as well as the close relationship of friendship and values shared between Ireland and our island.”
