Tías Local Police have attended a farm in Tegoyo following a complaint from animal welfare group Ademal.
Ademal officially reported that the farm contained several animals, including dogs, chickens, ducks, sheep and rabbits, that were being kept in cruel and negligent conditions. Dogs were permanently chained in the open and other animals were caged in filthy conditions without food or water.
On Instagram, Ademal said “How can this still be happening in 2025? Abuse of animals is a crime. Animals feel pain, hunger, thirst and fear, yet they are treated as if they are worth nothing.”
Police confirmed that offences were being committed. The matter is now in the hands of the judicial authorities. Offences against Spain’s Animal Welfare Act of 2023 can bring heavy fines and even prison sentences.
