Haría Ayuntamiento is launching a brand-new event this weekend dedicated to veganism and eco-conscious living. The first edition of the EcoHaría Vegana fair will take place this Sunday, 16 November, in the Plaza de Haría from 10:00 to 19:00.

Designed to promote healthy habits for all ages, the fair will feature a full day of activities, workshops, and live musical performances.

Mayor Alfredo Villalba highlighted the fair’s broader community goals. He stated that the activity will be an opportunity to bring the municipality’s residents closer to “the promotion, enhancement, and revitalisation of social well-being.” He also stressed that this is a “very interesting” way to foster “greater commitment among the population to more beneficial procedures and ideas for building healthier environments in our municipality.”

Councillor for Commerce, Nuria Acuña, outlined the family-friendly nature of the event. “The Ayuntamiento would like to thank all the people and collaborators who make this initiative possible, and we encourage everyone to enjoy this EcoHaría Vegana to the fullest,” she said.

The fair is supported by the Government of the Canary Islands and Dinamiza Rural Volcanic Xperience.

The day begins at 10am with the official opening of the fair, featuring a market of vegan food stalls and producers of non-animal products. This will be accompanied by an environmental musical performance from violinist Pablo Mesa.

The morning continues at 11:30am with a children’s recycling workshop and a ‘Yoga for All’ session led by Aymara Fernández. Participants for the yoga workshop are asked to bring their own mat.

A talk on science and awareness entitled ‘How to nourish yourself well with a plant-based diet’ will be given by professional Flavia Baridon at noon. This will be followed at 12:30pm by the wellness workshop ‘Breathe your day’, also led by Aymara Fernández. Attendees should bring their own mat.

Live music returns at 1:30pm with a performance by the group The Heartbreakers.

The afternoon schedule starts at 3pm with a Parranda Canaria, followed at 4pm by a talk from the animal welfare organisation Sara, entitled “Get to know us, what we do, and how you can help us.”

A vegan cooking workshop is scheduled for 5pm, alongside a macramé and children’s percussion workshop. The inaugural EcoHaría Vegana fair will draw to a close at 7pm.
