30-year-old man drowns at Los Charcones

A 30-year-old man drowned yesterday at Los Charcones in Yaiza.

Emergency services received a notification that the victim had been removed from the water without a pulse at around 5.30 pm. Attempts at resuscitation were fruitless.

Los Charcones, a series of natural rock pools at the base of cliffs between Playa Blanca and Janubio, have never been deliberately publicised because of the risk they pose to the public.
