EMERLAN lifesavers took part in two sea rescues at Puerto del Carmen this weekend.
In the first incident, a jet ski capsized, pitching two riders into the ocean. EMERLAN rescued both the skiers and retrieved the craft.
In the second incident, three people were rescued after strong winds blew their inflatable out to sea. EMERLAN reminded beach users “It’s important to check wind and tidal conditions before taking inflatables, floats or small vessels offshore.”
Strong north winds reaching up to 55 kph will continue to comb the island today and Tuesday, meaning it may be a good idea to keep your inflatable pink unicorn to a pool.
