49-year-old woman in serious condition after diving accident in Puerto del Carmen

A 49-year-old woman is in a “serious” state after suffering a cardiac arrest while scuba diving in Puerto del Carmen.

At 9.39 yesterday morning emergency services were notified that attempts were being made to resuscitate a woman who had suffered “an accident” while diving.

A Canarian Health Service nurse gave instructions over the telephone until an ambulance arrived and confirmed that the victim had regained a pulse. The woman was stabilised and taken to hospital.
