Canarian airline Binter has introduced a rule requiring all passengers who are listening to music, watching videos or playing videogames during flights to use headphones.
The rule is intended to make flights more pleasant for other passengers by reducing ambient noise within the aircraft.
Headphone use is already compulsory on many airlines in the USA and the issue of “headphone dodgers” on British public transport has recently hit the headlines, with the Liberal Democrat party pledging to introduce similar laws requiring headphones.
