Tías Ayuntamiento has signed a €526,000 contract for the extension of the children’s play area at Matagorda, with work due to be completed in six months.

The project will quadruple the current area of the playground and the new playground will have an aeronautical theme, with an aeroplane and a 6-meter-high control tower with a slide, a balancing course, a 20-metre zip line, trampoline mats, and wooden pergolas for shade.

The contract includes the installation of playground equipment such as swings, climbing frames, slides, seesaws, tunnels, sandpits, steps, climbing walls, and ropes. Tías Parks councillor Christopher Notario said the playground has an excellent “with sea views and close to the airport area,” and added “we wanted to design an innovative, attractive, and accessible space that will delight families and make this area a benchmark for children’s leisure on the island. This park is a clear commitment to quality, inclusion, and outdoor play in a privileged setting.”
