The Cabildo will invest €750,000 in a Dive Centre at Puerto del Carmen’s Playa Chica, it was announced yesterday.
Cabildo Public Works Councillor Jacobo Medina explained that the centre would permit divers to carry out their activities “calmly and safely”. Playa Chica is the most popular dive location on the island.
Tías Mayor, José Juan Cruz, pointed out that one of the aims of the project was to recover normal use of the seafront promenade at Playa Chica, which has often become congested by divers and their equipment.
