Ecologists In Action have issued a formal objection to the proposed broadening of the LZ-40 road connecting Lanzarote’s airport with Puerto del Carmen.
The environmental group described the plan to convert the road into a dual carriageway as “disproportionate and inappropriate for the reality of the island.” they claim the project is not necessary in order to ease delays that generally only take place during one hour, from 3pm to 4 pm.
Ecologists In Action claim that “other solutions exist.”. They include “a transport policy that prioritises efficient, subsidised public transport that meets the requirements of the people who live and work on the island.”
