One of the abandoned hotels in Costa Teguise is finally being demolished after several years of delay.
The buildings are on plot 242B, in the far east of the resort nearest to the village of Los Ancones and were declared illegal and issued with a demolition order more than 15 years ago.
The Socialist Party in Teguise, who have been campaigning against the “skeleton hotels” for many years, welcomed the news. “Costa Teguise has suffered from this bad image for too many years, but it has also suffered from this example of illegality, which has motivated the constant complaints of the Socialists against the inaction and passivity shown by the council governed for 14 years by the Canary Coalition” said Marco Bergaz, Socialist spokesman.
