The Centres for Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) have highlighted an “extraordinary” summer term in a press release today with over 1 million visitors between July and September.

Lanzarote’s tourist centres have received a total of 1,037,246 visitors between the months of July and September this year, representing an 8.7% increase during the same period last year.

The CACT hit this figure after receiving a total of 285,393 visitors last month, 20.52% more than September 2022.

Jameos del Agua and Timanfaya were unsurprisingly the most visited centres in September with 74,812 and 73,467 visitors. The Cueva de los Verdes received a total of 49,923 visitors.

In total the tourist centres have received 2,665,417 visitors so far this year, 17.88% more than 2022 for the same period.

CACT Director, Ángel Vázquez, thanks “the dedication and professionalism” of the staff and stated, “our intention is to continue working to enrich an offer that remains fully in force with the aim of creating an unforgettable experience.”.
