Works have commenced on the Playa Honda underpass that will relieve congestion on the notorious roundabout serving the industrial zone north of the main LZ-2 road.

The works will involve the closure of certain roads, with the stretch from Calle Princesa Ico to Calle Mayor currently off limits.

The underpass will be parallel to the existing one, and its purpose will be to filter off traffic heading for the main town of Playa Honda and Deiland Centre  before it reaches the roundabout.

The works will cost 3.8 million Euros and are expected to take around six months to complete. San Bartolomé Mayor Isidro Pérez has apologised in advance to residents for any inconveniences.
