A fishing boat ran aground at the harbour in Puerto del Carmen in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Ikusieder , an 18-metre wooden vessel that carries out line fishing for tuna from Puerto del Carmen, ran ashore on the outside of the harbour wall at around 4 am in the morning. Four crew members were on board, and all have been safely removed by emergency services
Residents and tourists watched as various attempts were made to refloat the boat. Later, Maritime Rescue confirmed that the boat will be dislodged from the rocks by a crane, kept afloat by the use of buoys and bilge pumps and brought into dry dock.
