A 25-year-old man is being investigated by the Guardia Civil after driving at over 160 kph (100 mph) on a stretch of road with a 60 kph (40 mph) speed limit.
The incident took place on the 24th February on the LZ-34 road between San Bartolomé and Tahiche, where a 60kph limit operates on the stretch between the César Manrique Foundation and the Zonzamas Day Centre.
The driver was registered by a mobile speed control unit, and photos have been presented to the Traffic Department in Arrecife.
