Arrecife Ayuntamiento has removed and scrapped 212 abandoned vehicles from its streets in the last year.
191 cars, 10 4x4s, seven vans and four motorcycles have been removed since late 2021.
To be classed as abandoned, a vehicle must have remained stationary for more than 30 days. Cars that lack number plates or are in an obviously damaged state are also classed as abandoned.
Once reported, police will attempt to contact the owner, giving them 15 days to remove the vehicle. If this does not occur, the vehicle will be removed and scrapped.
