The wreckage of 15 cars was successfully removed from the Famara cliffside yesterday.
After the cars had been prepared by firemen, a helicopter lifted them to the car park of the Ermita de las Nieves, where it was removed by a scrap company.
For several years, wrecked cars had been clearly visible on the cliffside, and these were usually a result of successful or unsuccessful suicide attempts.
Cabildo President María Dolores Corujo later highlighted the importance of mental health and suggested that she would be open to the idea of putting up posters advertising the 024 Helpline in the area.
