The new roundabout on the hilltop in Macher was opened yesterday, putting an end to over a week of time-consuming detours.
The roundabout will improve access to the LZ-2 main road for residents on both sides of the road through Macher and provide drivers with an earlier opportunity to change direction on a 2.2 km stretch of road with a continuous white line.
The opening of the roundabout was attended by Cabildo President María Dolores Corujo, Tias Mayor José Juan Cruz and the Canarian Government Public Works Minister, Sebástian Franquis.
The roundabout will be used by almost 17,000 vehicles every day.
