The Cabildo has given 2.4 million to Playa Honda to help improve the situation for pedestrians in the three of the main streets in the town.
Calles Mástil, Princesa Ico and San Borondón will all be updated so that pedestrians have complete priority over vehicles at all times.
The project will involve new, broader pavements; new signage and road markings and a possible change in traffic directions from adjoining streets.
