Last night the Lanzarote Cabildo building was illuminated in commemoration of Colombian Independence Day.
An important day for the island’s Colombian residents, the Cabildo decided to illuminate the front of the building with the colours of the flag to commemorate the day. Many attended the occasion including the Cabildo Social Welfare Councillor, Isabel Martín and Culture Councillor, Alberto Aguiar, along with others to celebrate.
Isabel Martín stressed “the importance of making an occasion of traditions and important dates for the island’s communities, showing our support and the cultural diversity of Lanzarote.”.
The lights stayed lit from 8pm Wednesday night until 8am this morning.
