Before the start of the race on Saturday evening, the Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, switched on the Christmas lights on Calle Limones to light up the town with Christmas cheer.

The Music Night Race had three different distances – one mile, five kilometres, and ten kilometres.

The two best runners in the ten-kilometre race were Tinguaro Quintero and María Cecilia Jover. Quintero finished the race with a time of 36:15, and Jover finished with a time of 51:56.

Aladdin Bouhania came second in the ten-kilometre race, Saúl Rodríguez third and Suso Albar fourth. Suso, a resident of Playa Blanca, has been suffering from an injury for some time, so spectators were happy to see him reappear in the top positions.

At the finish line of the women’s ten-kilometre race, María Cecilia Jover explained how much she had enjoyed the course and congratulated the good performances of fellow runners Rossana Spagnuolo and Elena del Toro who came second and third.

The five-kilometre race winners are as follows: Hugo Pérez Robayna (20:06), José Carlos Hernández and Akorán Rodríguez, and the women’s winners Magdalena Gradwohl (27:11), María Guayllas and Lucía Tejera standing out.

In the mile race the winners are as follows: Tinguaro Quintero (04:55), Luis Rodríguez and Bruno Castro, while the women’s classification was headed by Carla de Marco (5:55), Ana Fiestras and Elizbeth Rosa.

Yaiza’s Sports Councillor, Ángel Lago, stated “the best satistfaction we can have is that the athletes, the families and the public enjoyed the event. Sport in Yaiza is a priority and we will spare no effort to continue promoting it through the sports schools and sporting events.”.

The Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, expressed his gratitude for everyone’s participation and for the work of the municipal staff, the Triyazia Sports Club, Yaiza Local Police, Civil Protection and each of those involved in the organisation of the race.
