An Iberia Express flight bound for Madrid had to come back to Lanzarote due to a medical problem with one of the passengers onboard.
As reported by Controladores Aéreos on Twitter, just 40 minutes into the flight the plane had to double back on itself. The passenger was given “top priority and the approach has been shortened as much as possible while the medical team wait on the ground.”
Air Traffic Control noted that although these incidents occur semi-frequently, they have not recorded and increase in frequency.
